Lavita Sue seemed to know exactly how to be the best mom and the above photos (taken a couple hours after birth) show the love she feels for this baby.. We couldn't be happier with this baby and mom. Millie is an excellent mother. We enjoy Delilah's antics each and every
day.

Calypso is a shy, mommy-loving little
jack. He goes off with the other foals once in a while, but then comes
running back to mom! The above photos were taken October 21 and we now
detect a slight cross/stripe. We believe he will end up dark brown
w/stripe/cross. His conformation is outstanding as is his bite. He had his
first hoof trim at 6 weeks and was a very good boy. He will be ready for a
new home about mid-March 2008. We have decided to keep his full brother,
H.R. Desi, as a herd sire and cart donkey. |

Although Midnight was black as a
newborn, we now detect a faint stripe/cross. He has a nice rear, good
square build, nice chest, good teeth, and a delightful personality. He is
filling out nicely at just over a year old. We believe he has the
potential to be a future herd sire/show donkey/pet. He is ready to go to
a new home where his potential will be realized.

Katrina was born to first-time
dad, H.R. Freedom and first-time mom, B-7 Sweetie Pie. What a super job
they did! This little girl is a whirlwind of activity and her mom has her
job cut out, just trying to keep up. Katrina weighed 25 lbs. at birth, and,
at barely 20", she is a very compact and filled out newborn. Teeth are
right-on (yes, she was born with teeth) and her legs and back are very
straight. Her chest looks nice and wide for a newborn. We will probably
keep her! Looking forward to breeding her to Stoney Acres Salem in a few
years. |

We are still trying to figure out what
color this little guy will be. We may not know until next summer. He was
born while I was at the grocery store and my husband was in St. Louis. We
are not used to our babies born during the daylight hours, so he surprised
us! Daryl has long hair and it is shiny and very soft. Hard to describe,
but very different texture than our other five babies born in the last few
weeks. Daryl is an absolute love and as soon as he sees us he comes
running for kisses, which we happily give. Daryl is correct: nice solid
build and in proportion, straight back, straight legs, good teeth. My
husband calls him "compact". He is named after my husband's brother,
Daryl, who died this summer.

Misty May was named after the U.S.
Olympic volleyball player. Misty was born while I was in Vermont at the
Third Annual Labor Day Weekend Donkey Spectacular. I was very nervous
leaving, with a baby due. Hubby was home donkey-sitting. First time mom,
H. R. Sabrina, delivered this beautiful baby all by herself. Misty wants
to be a very friendly baby, and mom just keeps pushing her around.
Usually toward us. She would come by herself, if mom would just give her
a break. We have had to take Misty in another pasture in order to spend
time with her without her mom pushing her.... Misty is correct in every
way and will make a nice show/brood jenny.

H.R. Michaela is our long-awaited first
foal of the year. Her name is the feminine of "Michael", our grandson,
whose birthday was one day before her birth. This dark beauty was up and
nursing when she was only 30 minutes old. She is a beautiful bundle of
energy and quite the lover. She is already following me around at 24
hours old. Michaela is correct in every way and we think she is simply
gorgeous.

This little beauty was born early in
the morning. When I checked donkeys I saw an extra set of legs behind
Santina (her mom). Victoria was wet, nursing, and healthy! She is the
second foal of our herdsire, Stoney Acres Salem. We couldn't be
happier with this little gem.

H.R. Flalshdance is indeed a flashy little girl. She is very energetic and a joy to be around. She is already wrapping us around her little legs. Flashdance is the first foal of our black herdsire, Stoney Acres Salem. She is a very feminine jennet. We are thrilled with the birth of this little beauty. Since Flashdance has a very faint cross, I do not know whether she will stay black or be black/brown. |

Freedom is a beautiful solid black,
small foal. He is very correct, with a good bite, straight topline, and
nice, straight legs. He stood nicely for his very first hoof trim at
1-1/2 months. We plan to keep him as a future herd sire. We will then
have Chaboom bloodlines as well as Salem bloodlines. We think that will
give a nice balance to our herd.
